Rowan Scarf Progress

The last time I shared my Rowan scarf I had made nearly 5 squares.  I tried and tried to follow the pattern and make the triangles but nomatter how much I tried they were not triangle shaped and the patter looked awful.  I gave up with the triangles and started to sew the squares together in to a long row.

In the end I made 10 squares.  Looking now I dn’t think I would have had enough to make the 18 triangles with the yarn i had left anyway.

All 10 squares have been finished and sewn together.

imageNow to start the boarder.  I am edging with granny stitch in the mustard.

imageIt does look like there will be a FO this year!

I love the colours of that scarf. I keep thinking I should try crocheting again as I haven’t done it since my teens, but I’ve seen so many lovely things that I’d like to try.

Yours is the second blog I have visited with a crochet project today. I’m just beginning, but am ‘hooked’ already. Just got to sort out my tension and learn to translate a pattern! Your scarf is something for me to aspire to. Beautiful.

Thanks. Keep practicing is my advice. Took me a long time to get tension correct.

Love the colours! I have started making a different border on my Preemie blankets but wonder what ‘granny stitch’ is ….. will have to look that up!

Love the colours you’re using, very autumnal 🙂 The mustard edging finishes it off beautifully

Wow, you’re moving on! I have a bunch of cotton granny squares waiting to be crocheted together and have sort of lost the will to do it…which is a huge problem because it’s an intended christmas pressie!
Love the rich colours in your scarf, it’ll be a joy to use.
As a samll aside..would you mind including the WOYWW acronym in your title if you link up – it makes it easier for visitors to determine they’re at the right post – especially if they visit as late as I do!
