What Blogging Means To Me

Blogging can be whatever you want it to be. To be honest I am little over all the blog posts that tell me I have to do this I have to do that.

I even saw one recently that said to be successful on Instagram you only follow 1/4 of the number of followers you have. Ie you have 400 followers you should never follow more than 100.

blogging

If we all took that approach nobody would have any followers. My Instagram followers are half the number I follow yet I have 5 times the number of followers this person had. The person who was telling me I was doing it all wrong has less followers than me. Total madness.

blogging

My blog isn’t perfect, it does rate highly with page views but it’s mine and I like the way I run it. It’s not all about making money which I feel blogging is turning in to. It’s about doing what makes us happy. Doing what we want. Doing it our way. On our little space on the web.

blogging
Blogging to me is therapeutic. It allows me to put my thoughts down and free space in my head. In this busy 24/7 world we have found ourselves in I really think we should use whatever tactics we can to slow our lives down, to get back to basics and enjoy life.

blogging

Have we all become money orientated?  Are e unable to do anything without their being a commercial gain?

Do you find blogging is turning in to how to blog guides, how not to blog guides when the experts telling us have only had blogs for a short few months?

Do you find these blogging guides useful or do you keep on blogging your way?

I am SO with you on this – and in fact, I wrote a poem over on my blog about this very thing this morning! xx

I’m always going to blog how I want to and if money comes with it great if not i’m not worried. I blog in order to have a record of things I can look back on and to give me space to be creative x

It is amazing how blogging can mean so many different things to people – I definitely find it therapeutic as well. x

I love that blogging is so diverse. I have taken my blog to that monetary level, and although it is my business I still run it with my true self in mind (if that makes sense!). I want to be able to say that I did it in a way that made me happy and proud. H x

I just do what I want to do, what comes naturally. I was told the other day by the BBC that this is what sets me apart from a lot of other food bloggers. I’ve got my own unique style. I take advice, sure – but ultimately I only do what I do because I enjoy it. It paying the bills is just a perk. 😉

This is such a lovely post. I find blogging really therapeutic too. I don’t have the best page views, but it allows me unleash my thoughts and I get a few good opportunities. I don’t mind if I don’t make money, although it would be nice and after 6 years I’m still not bored of it.

I hear you loud and clear. Forget the rules with blogging and do it because you love it or you find it useful and of benefit to your life. Follow who you want, write what and when you want, do what comes naturally to you.

I don’t very often read the blogging guides because they often all say the same thing. I think it’s all up to you! Every now and again it’s good to get a few tips here and there. I see my blog as a great way to socialise with the world whilst also getting to share my thoughts and opinions with like-minded people! I feel like I have so many more friends just from blogging, whether I met these people or not!

I think that if you enjoy blogging it will show in your posts rather than mass producing posts for the sake of it. To me I would love to earn money from my blog but not at risk of losing the enjoyment I get from blogging.

Blogging is what we make of it. I enjoy blogging so I blog. Never knew it would become what it is today.

It’s definitely nice to have a way to express yourself. I would probably continue to blog if it wasn’t a source of income.

I love blogging and I have seen other bloggers blogs turn into those kinds of how to blogs but i find it so useful

Totally agree. I blog solely for me. If I make money on the side it’s a bonus. I don’t rank myself against other blogs anymore because I don’t want to blog like they do, I want a space that’s full of my interests.

I don’t follow the follow rule and to be honest I think it’s not fair for those that make the effort to follow you.

I do find myself reading the blog guides when I see someone post them but I never really pay attention to them. I don’t have the highest pay views like some I see published, I don’t have the hugest Instagram followers number but I’ve been doing this for 5 years and still love it as much as when I started!

I used to follow some of these ‘blogging guides’ and they made me feel I was doing everything wrong. until I decided I was just going to do thins the way I wanted to do things.

Im a big believer in writing a blog that you would want to read yourself so I don’t tend to pay much attention to guides xxx

I find it therapeutic as well! I love being able to look back at my blog and relive the things I’ve done!

I blog when I want and how I want. For me it is a form of escapism from life and the chance to have my say and interact with like minded people x
