For a long time now I have taken a photograph literately every day of the year but until now I have kept the majority of these to myself and not blogged about them.  This is I am going to try and join in with Project 365 and blog my photos each week. This week has been a short weekend only includes 2 photos. I intend on publishing my post on a Saturday and sharing Saturday to Fridays photos. *Edited Having read some other Project 365 posts I can see others are giving explanations/background info to their photos.  As I said…

To get away from the madness that is Christmas The Girl and I walked home from the Drs after our blood tests on Monday via the beach. It’s so lovely to walk along the deserted beach this time of year and I really do love to do so. Sadly the past few weeks have been rather wet and we haven’t been able to but Monday saw the winter sun shining down on us. A short and sweet walk but just what we needed to blow the cobwebs away. Last year, after much thought, crossing out of ideas, adding new items, umming and arring I came up with a list of 50 things that I would like to do before my 50th birthday in March 2023.  Having just passed the 18 month mark I thought it might be good to review what I am working on to try to keep myself on track. In January I picked a few goals to work on this year. A big list to concentrate on but for now I’ll just talk about the achievements. Raise £100 for Charity This says it all! Develop…

Can’t believe it is now 2 1/2 years since we went to Liverpool. We had such a fantastic time doing all the tourist things around a city we had never visited before. It really was lovely to get away just the three of us.  This is something I want to do more of next year; short weekends away.  The tree of us together enjoying fun and laughter and fabulous times.

A few years ago I suddenly had 2 non believers.  Even now it makes me sad.  This is what I had to say at the time: Christmas this is going to be very different from those over the past 10 years. Different….very very different. This year, we will not have a visit to Santa, you see, they no longer believe. I am much more upset about this than they are. No longer will I see their faces light up when they meet that special man. No longer will they suddenly turn shy and go very quite, mouths open with an…

That’s a good question isn’t it?  How do we survive this time of the year?  How do we end up at the start of a brand new year unscathed? I would certainly not say I am a expert in answering these questions but being in my 40’s now and still standing I think I have done ok so far. Here a few things I have learnt along the way: Budget This really has to be your first priority.  Nobody wants to wake up Boxing Day and find they are hundreds or even thousands of pounds debt just because of one…

Last weekend The Girl had her art club meeting just outside Bangor  This is a good 2 to 2 1/2 hour journey so it is not practical for us to take her then go home  we decided to head to Anglesey.  Driving all the way to Holyhead and then through to the coast down country lanes until we reached this sign. High up on the cliffs looking at this: South Stack Lighthouse.  It was a glorious sunny day.  Hard to believe it would be December in 2 days time.  No wind to be felt, just the warm autumn sun.  …

Life was so much different 3 years ago.  We lived in the Midlands.  I was stressed out by a job that I had to spend too many hours doing.  I worked what was known as a term time contract; this meant I worked full time but did not work school holidays.  Sounds good doesn’t it?  There were 2 real down sides though.  I automatically waved goodbye to a 1/4 of my wages and secondly work allocation did quite stack up with other colleagues.  I worked full time so I tended to have a small full time case load.  Fine you…
