Last year I visited my local yarn store and purchased a skein of Araucania Botany Lace and started to crochet a complex cowl.  I got quite a way through the pattern but it was intricate and was taking forever.  To be honest I didn’t really like the pattern that much considering the time it was taking to complete.  I frogged it.  Got the yarn in a big knot and had to take a pair of scissors to it then knot it together as I made the yarn cake.

I decided I wanted to have a go at knitting something but something simple.  I search Ravelry and came up with Hitchhiker.  I’d seen this pattern before and came straight back to it again.

This is my progress after a week:

Up to 10 spikes.  For me, this is good progress!

Your Hitchhiker is looking great so far. That yarn & pattern is a great pairing.

Thanks Katie. Loving how the yarn is knitting up. Lovely to use too.

It was definitely the right choice to frog back and re-use that beautiful yarn for something you already know you’ll like more – it’s looking great so far!
