St George’s Day

St George, the Patron Saint of England.

The man who slayed a dragon.

St George slaying dragon

The man whose life English folk celebrate.

No wait.

The English don’t celebrate any Patron Saint of their own.

They’ll celebrate St Patrick, the Patron Saint Of Ireland but celebrating their own Patron Saint would be quite wrong.

Why is it the English don’t celebrate St George’s Day?

Are the English not proud to be English?

Look at the media around the world and you will see most nations celebrating on that one special day that is sacred to their nation but not the English.

Celebrating St George’s Day just wouldn’t be English.
