Chocolate Week – Easter Chocolate Nests

Easter chocolate nests, one of the easiest chocolate desserts to make.  Small (and big) kids love eating them, they love making them and if your kids are anything like mine, they love licking the bowl after too!

This is my quick and easy way of making chocolate nests and one of the ways the lovely folks at Center Parcs thinks s a good way to make yummy chocolate nests:

Break 200g of milk chocolate up and melt in the microwave.  Start with 1 min then decrease to 30 seconds then 10 seconds at a time stirring at each point.  Continue until fully melted.

Whilst chocolate is melting put paper cases in tray and crumble 85g of shredded wheat.

In to the melted chocolate put a good squeeze of Golden syrup and mix.

Mix well.

Spoon in to the paper cases.

Make a well in the middle.

Place some mini eggs in the middle and cool in the fridge for 1 hour.image

Enjoy!  This recipe really is child friendly.  The boy (11) made these all on his own.  Younger children may need help operating the microwave and handling any melted chocolate as it could burn them.

Remember all this week on the blog I will be sharing lots of yummy chocolate recipes with you, sweet ones, drinkable ones and even savoury ones!  Do come back and have a look and if you try and of the recipes do let me know how you get on.
