Toad In The Hole, Family Meal Planning

I really love family meal planning.  I am  that is it easier for us to be more organised as a family when we know what we will be eating each day.  I also find it frees up more time to enjoy valuable time together as a family.  This is something I am finding more difficult to achieve as the children get older.  I’m sure you will also agree it’s hard to spend quality time together.  The one great advantage to us as a family is that family meal planning saves money and food waste.

This week our food shop has come to £55 as I’ve haven’t needed to top up on some of the more expensive toiletries and cleaning products.  I’ve also found we have a large number of items building up in the freezer and I would like for those to be used up.products.

This week’s Family Meal Planning

Monday – Toad In The Hole

Tuesday – Roast Chicken

Wednesday – Chicken & Rice

Thursday – Eggs Benedict

Friday – Tortills Wrap Pizzas

Saturday – Slow braised Pork Belly

Sunday – Roast

Breakfasts will be cereal, toast or our version of a Breakfast Mufffins. Lunches will be sandwiches or soup.

Our breakfast muffin recipe is a great recipe that can be made in advance, popped in the freezer and then heated through in the microwave in the morning.  I find they really do fill the children up until lunch and they also are super speedy which can only be a good thing when getting children out to school in the morning.

Linking up our family meal planning with At Home with Mrs M where you can find plenty of other meal plans.  Hopefully they will give you some ideas to feed your family. If you haven’t visited before, please pop over to my cooking blog where you can find some family friendly recipes we like to eat.

Meal planning certainly saves me time and stress actually as I’m not panicking about what to cook at 4pm and finding I am out of key ingredients.
