Thinking Of Me

Here by the sea things have been so up in the air the last few weeks. To be honest it’s been a bit of a roller coaster hell. One ride that I need to get off quick as its having an effect on my health.

I’m not sure where this year has gone but there’s only 7 weeks left. Seven short weeks left of 2015. To make things a little better for myself, I’m making a few changes. Little simple things to get my health back on track.   smile

These next 7 weeks, for 7 days each week, I’m making 7 simple changes.

  1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water. I’ve been neglecting this and my body has been paying for it.
  2. Apply hand cream regular. With the change in the weather have made my hands so dry.
  3. Moisturise daily. It’s something that I sometimes neglect everyday and my skin is noticing this now the weather is going cold.
  4. Put my phone down at least 30 minutes before I go to bed. I need to switch off.
  5. Go to be early enough to get 8 hours sleep every night.
  6. Take 30 minutes each day to sit, relax and switch off from everything around me.
  7. Write down at least 1 positive every day.

I spend so much time looking out for others, trying to make sure others are happy and well I have been neglecting my own happiness. Deep down I know this is beginning to affect my health.

I’ve also realised since turning 40, that when I do get a blip with my health it takes longer to get back to being me. I need to ensure I’m moisturising all over daily, my skin really noticed the difference. I’ve also had to chafe products I’m using as I need a more richer product to counteract signs of ageing.

Quite simply, I’ve been neglecting my health and well being too much of late.

This needs to stop. I need to start thinking about me.

What are you doing to be kind to yourself?

Good for you! I really hope it helps you. In addition to the horrendous acne (now gone, but not counting my chickens that it’ll be back), I have terrible eczema on my hands in winter, so really have to look after them. Sleep is such a big thing for you – I really hope you manage to get your eight hours. You will feel like a different woman! Good luck!

You do notice a difference when you turn 40. I don’t look after myself as I should I am too busy with everyone else that I just don’t get the time or the energy and I really need to start giving myself a break. I hope you carry on with your list and start to feel better in yourself soon x

I think putting the phone down and finding some time to relax is a really important one. Sometimes we can have a bit of a social media overload!

I’m with you when it comes to recovering from ill health when you reach your forties. Its a good way to change bad ways and to look after yourself by changing your routine slightly. I like to add some ‘me time’ or nice things to my to do list along with the chores – its important to get the balance right!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

  9. 27th November 2015 / 9:53 pm

I really need to start drinking more water too. I do take time out each day for myself, weather it be doing a bit of colouring or reading in bed, but just having this extra 30 minutes just for me to relax, really makes a difference to my overall well being
