New Quay, Wales

Further south along the Cambrian Coast from us is the picturesque village of New Quay.  After The Girl had a hospital appointment in Cardigan earlier this month we decided to stop off on the way back for some lunch.  At the beginning of November the place was deserted but we had fabulous sunny weather to greet us.

A walk around the harbour.  Such views to be seen.

A spot of lunch: fresh local scallops wrapped pancetta fried in a little batter.

Fun down on the beach with a yummy ice cream.

Such a fun afternoon in the autumn sun.

Just love this part of the world.

I love little weekend breaks this time of year. Great to see places in autumn/winter instead of just sunny summer. Especially countryside/nature.

I think it’s great visiting beaches out of season – you get them to yourselves for a start! Fab photos and a lovely looking lunch. #pocolo

We love it too. The main reason we love living by the sea. It’s wonderful how nature can change your surrounding so much with the seasons.

The last time I visited Newquay in Wales was as a child-I remember liking it a lot. But then anywhere by the sea is good with me 🙂

Whoa! Scallops in pancetta then batter? The poshest chippy I’ve ever heard of! Definitely beats a soggy piece of fish.

I keep meaning to venture down to New Quay. I love to visit Aberaeron, but haven’t been must further south on the coast than that. We always seem to head up the coast!
