Project 365 2015 Week 2

Wow, I’m back for another week. Taking photos everyday is really not a problem for me, I’ve been doing it for a number of years. A couple of days this week it has taken me a while to decide which photo to use but these are my chosen 7:

Sunday 4th January

My lovely little daughter knocked my hand Saturday evening. I taped my fingers up as it really hurt but on Sunday the tape needed replacing and I did have any so put my crafty hat on and got out the washi tape.

Monday 5th January

Little finger was still hurting and I couldn’t move it. We went to A&E. I’d dislocated it and they taped it up and told me to come back to fracture clinic the next day.

Tuesday 6th January

Just about to leave for work and I get a phone call from school. The Girl is ill. Comes home and exact symptoms as the boy who had been very ill for over 5 weeks with glandular fever. Oh great I thought. She was too ill to take to the hospital and too ill to leave at home. So I cancelled my appointment for fracture clinic that afternoon and rearranged for Friday. When The Boy came home I popped to work to take the Christmas Decs down.  The Girl didn’t want to stop with her brother so as she had brightened up a little she came with me. Took us 15 minutes to take it all down.  Looks very bare!

Wednesday 7th January

Starting the healthy eating plan.

Thursday 8th January

Roasted chicken and veg.

Friday 9th January

Fracture clinic day. The Girl seemed a little better and was quite surprised how much she had picked up. She came to the hospital with me. My Dad picked us up from the hospital. We stopped for a pub lunch on the way home. The Girl ate nothing. Took us another hour to get home and we went straight to the Drs. Over an hour later they say The Girl has pneumonia. She seemed so well in the morning and that hour drive after lunch she just went downhill so much. Discussions with the hospital and even though Dr said she was being admitted due to her medical conditions, hole in heart, low immune system, problems with JIA meds which are affecting her lived and sats of 94% we are sent home with adult strength antibiotics and booked appointments for ooh Dr on Saturday and Sunday. Monday we are due to see Consultant anyway. I asked why change of mind about admission, no response. Asked have they beds and she shrugs her shoulders. Today’s photo is a cheery one as she really looks ill; my lunch. I know the healthy eating went out the door!

Saturday 10th January

Another stressful day plus a very poorly girl who spent last night and so far all of today in my bed.

Linking up with The Boy And Me

Thanks for visiting Chantelle. My finger is still quite sore and I’ve done some tendon damage and can’t move it properly. It bends but sticks out slightly and I cant move it to touch the next finger. Got some little split thing that keeps it strapped to next finger. Going back in a couple of weeks. If still having problems they said theyvwill need to scan it. So it’s a sit and wait situation. The Girl has just slept today, I’m waking every 2 hours during day to get her to drink. She’s not ate for 3 days now but need to keep up fluids.

Goodness this is a hard week but I read such positivity in your words. I hope both of them get much better soon. I’m surprised they didn’t admit her seeing as she’s so young but services at breaking point everywhere. It’s worrying.

It really worried me last 24 hours. She is so ill and her breathing rattles. She went down hill in the space of an hour. Ooh Dr has arranged home visit tomorrow which means I dont have to take her out for a hour drive each way. All obs the same as yesterday apart from her temp which has dropped to 40.2 (was40.3).

Everywhere is so busy, something needs to be done to get patients out of hospital sooner – it’s the need to get other agencies involved not starting until they are fit to be discharged and people sitting in bed when they really don’t need to that gets my goat.

Anyway, enough of my rambling and thank you for visiting and your kind words. Not quite sure where the positivity is coming from as not really feeling it these past 2 days.

  3. 10th January 2015 / 6:12 pm

Oh no, poor little one. Hope she starts to brighten up soon, must have been very stressful for you all. Hope your finger feels better soon too, my husband dislocated his finger and he said it was pretty sore!

Thank you for your best wishes. It’s been a hard week and it’s just let the antibiotics do their job time.

  4. 10th January 2015 / 6:17 pm

Oh no what a week to start the new year with. Hope your daughter is recovering well, and your finger too.

  7. 10th January 2015 / 8:08 pm

What a week you have had! I really hope you all feel better soon. I think that burger was needed!

  8. 10th January 2015 / 8:57 pm

So sorry to hear about your daughter! Sounds like a bad week that just got worse and worse. It sounds like she really ought to be in hospital. Really hope she starts to pick up soon. x

  9. 11th January 2015 / 12:02 am

Oh my goodness what a week for you. Hope your finger heals soon and your little girl is better – how worrying for you.

  10. 11th January 2015 / 7:00 am

It must be such a worry Candace. I hope she recovers quickly. Seems daft that they can’t find room for cases that need a bed (assuming that is what happens, but I guess it is otherwise they would have given the reason). Hope your fingers are healing up.

  11. 11th January 2015 / 9:51 am

Oh what a week lovely!! I hope your daughter has improved over the weekend. Well done on taking a photo a day, during all that. I barely take a photo a week, these days! Xx

  12. 11th January 2015 / 9:14 pm

What a tough week for you! I hope this next week is kinder to you!
That Roasted chicken and veg does look very tasty though x

  13. 12th January 2015 / 8:20 am

Not been a good week for you all has it? (((hugs))) to each and every one of you.
A dislocation can be very sore, but your daughter sounds worrying. Bob had glandular fever in P1, and managed 2 or 3 mornings a week to school but no afternoons, it really does drain them,
Good chance their were no beds but you will know all her warning signs anyway – and know to just keep a good eye on her.
Banana and strawberries, 2 of my favs, but cant eat them anymore they cripple my stomach

  14. 12th January 2015 / 10:52 am

What a stressful week for you, so sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope the meds helped, and she is on the mend. Hope this week will be much-much better for you all.
